The Springfield Armory® Hellion™ represents a radically unique and innovative approach to firearms design, helping to redefine perceptions of semi-automatic 5.56mm performance. Featuring a “bullpup” configuration where the action is located behind the trigger, the Hellion 18” features a short overall length for compact handling along with enhanced ballistic performance due to its longer barrel. Ambidextrous controls work in concert with a reversible case ejection system for maximum adaptability. The result is a 5.56 that combines portability with potent performance.

Bullpup Design

Unlike a traditional long gun, the bullpup system moves the action and the magazine back behind the trigger into the normally unused buttstock area. By doing this, it reduces the overall length drastically, while still allowing you to have a barrel long enough to retain effective downrange performance.

Hammer Forged Barrel

The Hellion bullpup houses a hammer forged 18″ barrel chambered in 5.56, giving the rifle a high performance precision barrel for maximum accuracy. With a 1:7″ rate of twist and a rugged Melonite® coating, the Hellion delivers impressive ballistics and amazing downrange performance for its compact size.

Adjustable Gas System

To ensure the maximum in flexibility and performance, the Springfield Armory Hellion 5.56mm bullpup features a two-position adjustable gas block with “S” suppressed and “N” normal modes. The result is a firearm that can be easily and quickly adjusted to fit conditions and ammo availability.

Fully Ambidextrous

The Hellion features a reversible ejection system for fired cases that requires no additional parts or tools. Complementing this system is a set of fully ambidextrous controls, including the safety, charging handle, magazine, and bolt releases. The result is an ultra-compact 5.56mm that can be easily fired from either shoulder.

Integrated Flip-Up Sights

Integrated into the Picatinny top rail of the Hellion is a set of sturdy and capable flip-up iron sights. These spring-loaded sights quickly pop into position, locking solidly until released.

PICATINNY TOP RAIL

An uninterrupted strip of Picatinny rail runs along the top of the Hellion, ensuring you can mount the optics of your choice to wring out the most performance from the 5.56mm bullpup.

BCMGUNFIGHTER™ MOD 3 GRIP

The Hellion accepts standard AR-15 pattern grips like the included Bravo Company USA® BCMGUNFIGHTER™ Mod 3.

The polymer handguard of the Hellion features nine M-Lok slots for mounting accessories, three each at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions.
